Consider it all Joy

In the book of James 1:2-4- it says to consider or count it all joy when you go through trials of any sort.

Is it possible to have Joy in the midst of your trials? The answer is – Yes it certainly is!

Happiness & Joy are two different things. Happiness is an emotion and is based on material things or events happening around us. Joy is a condition of the heart.  It’s a supernatural Joy that is stronger, an inner strength that runs deep. It comes from our relationship with Him and in knowing our position in Christ & who we are in Him.

V. 2 – 3  Consider (stop & think about it) it wholly joyful when you encounter trials of any sort. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance, steadfastness and patience.

The trial & proving of your faith. Faith being the assurance, the confirmation, the title deed of the things we hope for, being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality (faith perceiving as real fact what is not yet revealed to the senses). Hebrews 11:1 (amplified)

Verse 3 says, be assured & understand that the trial & proving of your faith bring out – 1) Endurance – The power to withstand something challenging. 2) Steadfastness – Firmly fixed in place. Immovable. Not subject to change. Firm in belief. 3) Patience – The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble or suffering without getting angry or upset.

V. 4 – Let endurance, steadfastness & patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be a people perfectly and fully developed (matured) with no defects, lacking in nothing.

Joy isn’t an emotion or feeling. True Joy comes from within – that inner strength that comes when we trust Him through our trials staying steadfast, not wavering. Knowing and trusting in His promises can bring a Joy and security that can’t compare to temporal happiness.

Joy is a spiritual weapon in a sense. Keeping your eyes on the source of your Joy and remaining in your faith in Him to accomplish and perfect those things that concern you will bring an inner strength that sustains you through trials.

He uses those trials to grow our faith to trust Him more & more to bring us to a perfect & complete maturity.

James 1 verse 4

The Living Bible translation – When the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. So, let it grow and don’t try to squirm out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete.

The Message Bible translation – Consider it a sheer gift friends, when test and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So, don’t try to get our of anything prematurely. let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

Scriptures on Joy

Nehemiah 8:10, Galatians 5:22-23, Romans 15:13, Psalm 16:11, 5:11, 21:6, 30:11, Proverbs 15:30, Isaiah 12:3

Woman of Faith

In Mark 5:25-34 , we read about a woman with an issue of blood who had been bleeding for twelve years. She  was considered unclean and wasn’t allowed to worship or have any contact with friends. Can you imagine? She had also spent all of her money on physicians and wasn’t any better but actually grew worse. This was so discouraging. She had endured much suffering through the years and was in a desperate condition.

She had heard others talking about reports of healing concerning Jesus and wondered if it could possibly be true. What did she have to lose? She had tried everything else and nothing had worked so far. But, in hearing these testimonies her faith was stirred and a glimmer of hope was sparked in her.

Her faith motivated her to act. She mustered up enough strength and courage to push past the large crowds, thinking if only she could touch His garment, maybe she too would be restored to health.

She managed to push through the crowds and was finally able to reach Him. She reached out with every ounce of strength and faith that she had and grabbed a hold of His garment and immediately, she was healed of her sickness. Knowing that she could be condemned for touching Jesus, she let go and secretly slipped back into the crowds.

Jesus, realizing that healing power had left Him, turned and asked the crowd, who touched me? The disciples said, you see this large crowd of people trying to reach you and you ask this? But, He was determined and kept looking around to see if He could find who had touched Him. The woman who was frightened came and fell before Jesus. She confessed that it was her that had touched Him. She begin to sob and tell Him her story but He already knew everything.

There were three reasons why He had called her out from the crowd.

1) So that she would know she was absolutely  healed when doubt would try to sneak in later.

2) So that others would believe her story was real and not just something she had made up.

3) And, that she would know why she was healed. That it was her faith not anything magical in touching His garment.

v.34) Jesus said to her,  Daughter, your faith (confidence and trust in me) has restored you to health. Go in peace and be continually healed from your disease.

I think there are some lessons to be learned from this story. I have listed some key points that we can apply to our own healing journey.

Four Keys to Our Healing

1. You need to push past any feelings of unworthiness and the voices that tell you that you will never be healed. The woman in this story was considered unclean in her sickness. She had to push past any embarrassment and feelings of unworthiness to move forward in her healing.

2. You need to listen to testimonies and  stories of healing. Search the Word of God and find scriptures and examples of healing. Let your faith build and motivate you. She listened to testimonies to stir her faith in order to reach out for her healing.

3. You have to reach out in faith and believe in His healing power. She knew that she had to touch His garments in order to be healed. She was instantly healed as she reached out for His garment. She had to do something.

4.  You need to speak of your healing. Confess it out loud. Tell someone about it so their faith can be stirred.  It was the testimonies of others that stirred her faith and motivated her  to act. Jesus asked the disciples who had touched Him. He already knew but He wanted the woman to come forward and confess that she was healed.

Praying that your faith would increase for your personal healing through this story!

Persistence is Key

My son, attend to My words; consent and submit to My sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:20-22 (amplified bible)

Mark 10:46-52

In verse 46 we see a blind beggar sitting by the roadside. When he heard that Jesus was coming he begin to call out to  him. As he did there were many voices surrounding him telling him to be quiet and to give up. They said it’s no use He will not answer you. But, the beggar kept pressing on and begin to shout even louder. Jesus heard him, stopped and said, Call him! So, they called him saying, take courage! Get up! HE is calling you! The beggar threw off his outer garments and ran to Jesus! Jesus said; what do you want Me to do for you? He said, Master, let me receive my sight. Jesus said, go on your way; your faith has healed you. And, at once he received his sight and accompanied Jesus on the road.

Five Keys to His Healing

  1. He called out to him.
  2. He ignored the voices in the crowd that were telling him to keep quiet.
  3. He threw off his old garments and ran to Jesus.
  4. He told Jesus what he needed.
  5. He received his healing by faith.

If you need healing today call out to Him. Ignore the voices that tell you it’s no use trying and keep pressing in – DON’T GIVE EVER UP! Throw off your old garments of doubt, unbelief, fear, excuses  – anything that would hinder you from coming to Jesus to receive your healing and run toward Him! Speak it out! Tell Him exactly what you need. He already knows but you need to verbalize it. Believe it and receive it! Move forward in faith!

Will you join me on my journey in these next few weeks as I search out His words that bring life and healing?

Be blessed!

Restoration is Coming

Read this on facebook this morning @metasmotivation – Stop chasing after things you’ve lost in the past and learn how to trust God’s restoration process. Realize that God isn’t capped by your abilities so His replacement will be always greater than what you previously lost.

Reminded me of this portion of a word I released last year for 2017:
#7 Restoration of things lost – According to the dictionary, restoration means returning something back to its original condition but in the Bible, restoration goes way beyond that. We see all through the Bible where God blesses His people for their faith and the hardships they endure by restoring their losses and giving them more than they had before.

I don’t know about you but 2017 has been a very hard year for me. It is almost over and I haven’t experienced restoration yet BUT I know my God is true to His Word! I will receive restoration of things lost and more! Amen!

Father, I pray today for those that have experienced loss whether it be in health, finances, relationships, etc. They have been hit hard and have been discouraged and faint at heart. They have almost given up hope of seeing restoration. They are weary of the battles they have endured. I pray that their eyes would be opened to see the miraculous restoration process that you have for them. I believe its just around the corner. Eyes have not seen nor ears have not heard what you have in store for them. I pray that today they would begin to call those things that be not as though they were as an act of faith in You. They would not doubt Your promises but be fully satisfied and assured that You are able to keep Your Word and do as You have promised. Today we will speak to our mountains whatever they may be and say “Be removed and cast into the Sea.” and we will not doubt in our hearts, therefore it shall be done for us. Increase our faith today and help us to choose our words wisely. We will speak Your word and Your Life over our situations. Hold us, steady Lord, until we see the manifestation of Your promises! We will not give up and we will not lose hope! Our restoration is coming!

The Birds Are Singing!

Sitting outside over the weekend I kept hearing the birds singing & singing over us. The one, in particular, stayed in one spot and kept on singing for a very long time which I thought was unusual. They came back yesterday and I hear them singing as I am typing this.

It reminded me of Song of Solomon chapter 2:11-13.

My beloved speaks and says to me, Rise up my love, my fair one, and come away.
For, behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing (of birds) has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth and ripens her green figs and the vines are in blossom and give forth their fragrance.

Arise, my love, my fair one and come away.

The Lord is calling you to rise up and come away with Him into an even more intimate place. This is what you were created for. From this secret place, you can see from His perspective. You can hear Him speak even in the little things. You will always be aware of His presence.

So, today I believe that He wants you to know that as you respond to  His upward call you will see that the winter has past and the rain is gone!  You’re moving past that barren place and pushing through all the mud that you’ve been walking through! Spring has now come! The flowers have appeared – you will begin to see fruit from your season of growing & maturing. The time of the birds singing has come – you will begin to worship Him on a deeper level! The voice of the turtledove is heard in our land – you are reaching a new level of the prophetic & prophetic prayer!

He wants you to see His beauty that is all around you and to be aware of His presence. All creation declares the Glory of God! All creation proclaims His handiwork! Receive His impartation that is available to you as you experience His presence and respond to His call to come away! Taste & see that He is good! Psalm 34:8

Arise, my love, my fair one and come away.

You Are Enough

Jesus Letter #1

I am yours. You are mine. I have loved you with an everlasting love. Never doubt My love for you. It is a Love that is stronger than death. My love is perfected in and through you to reach others who do not know the extent of My love. As you begin to see and experience MY Love – chains will begin to fall off. There is complete freedom in My Love. I desire to set you free so others can be free. You are My hands and feet. You are NOT insignificant as you think! I SAY, YOU ARE ENOUGH!

Jeremiah 31:3 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

The Lord appeared from of old to me [Israel], saying, Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you.

Yes, You are Loved! You are Free! You are Significant! AND, You are Enough!

Psalm 25:4-5

Lord, direct me through my journey so I can experience Your plans for my life. Reveal the life-paths that are pleasing to You. Escort me along the way, take me by the hand and teach me, for You are the God of my increasing salvation, I have wrapped my heart into Yours. Psalm 25:4-5 TPT (The Passion Translation)

Prophetic Word 2017

2016 was a year of Intense Training and Stretching. There was much Spiritual Warfare. 2017 – Overcoming the Enemy and Complete Victory. After 2016 – I think I’m ready for that! What about you?

Here are some things that  I heard in my spirit for this year. Be encouraged and Be Blessed!

  • 1)  Strength will be RENEWED to those who are weary. Isaiah 40:31
  • 2) Get ready to RECEIVE a DEEPER REVELATION of His love. Ephesians 3:17-18
  • 3)  Look for Him to REVEAL Himself to you in new ways. I Corinthians 2:9-10
  • 4)  EXPECT to HEAR His voice more clearly as He gives you clarity of thought. Jeremiah 33:3
  • 5)  Abundant, extravagant Grace will be poured out upon you to be able to walk out the  GIFTS He has for you in the New Year! 2 Corinthians 12:9
  • 6)    Restoration of things lost – According to the dictionary, restoration means returning something back to its original condition but in the Bible, restoration goes way beyond that. We see all through the Bible where God blesses His people for their faith and the hardships they endure by restoring their losses and giving them more than they had before. Amen! I believe that’s what the Lord is going to do for you this year!
Be Blessed!
Believe & Receive!

Don’t give up – You will Recover All!

Discouragement can’t be avoided but can be defeated. When life feels hard, it’s tempting to want to give up but we must be bold in the face of the enemy.
In I Samuel 30 we read about David’s response as he faces one of his greatest battles. He and his men go out to join the Philistine army but are rejected. They set out on the journey back home excited to see their families. As they begin to get closer they can see dark clouds of smoke rising and their excitement quickly vanishes. With their home unguarded the enemy came in and burned it to the ground. Everything is lost and their families are nowhere to be found. It was total chaos and devastation. David and his men weep uncontrollably until they have no strength left.
David’s personal loss alone is overwhelming but then his friends begin to speak of stoning him. They believe he is at fault for what has happened. He has every reason to be discouraged but when he remembers God has been his source of strength in the past, he encourages and strengthens himself in the Lord.
Psalm 138:3 (amplified) in the day when I called, You answered me and You strengthened me with strength in my inner self.
David then asks the priest to bring him the Ephod. An Ephod is a priestly garment connected with seeking a word from God. David puts it on and immediately begins to seek answers. He says “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” The Lord answers him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and recover all!”
God answered David and He will answer you! When He answers you will have a choice whether to believe His Word or not. Will you trust what He says to you?
David believes what the Lord said to him so he and his men pursue. We see in verses 11-15 where God has already made provision for him. They find a man in the fields who belonged to the troops who had raided Ziklag. David asks the man to take him to the enemy’s camp and he does! He shows him exactly where they are. I think this was a God set up – what about you? God will always go before you to set things up according to His plans and purposes.
God gives David instructions to move out and pursue. He tells him to trust Him and he will surely overtake the enemy and recover all! So, in faith, trusting God – David proceeds. David plunders the enemy’s camp and just as God promised – he recovers all – wives, children, all their spoil and more. Nothing missing! He captures all their flocks and herds and drives them before him, saying, This is David’s spoil!
Points to Ponder in Battle
1.It is when we try to fight our battles in our own strength that we become weary, frustrated and discouraged. Remember where your strength comes from and encourage yourself in the Lord as David did. Verses 4-6
2.There will be times we will get the blame for things that were out of our control. We must keep our eyes on God and not be intimidated by man.  Verse 6
3.God will go before you to fight your battles. Keep your eyes open. He will reveal your enemies. Verses 11-16
4.Sometimes what looks like our greatest defeat – God will turn it into our greatest victory if we trust him! God always has a better plan or purpose for our pain! Verses 18-20
5.Realize what you do IS important! Don’t compare yourself to others. It takes everyone working together! In this case, part of David’s army stayed with the battle gear while the others went to the battle. Verse 24
We all have times we get discouraged but my question to you today is this: what do you do when you get discouraged? Who do you turn to? Do you encourage yourself in the Lord when you are in the midst of a battle or do you find yourself wanting to give up?
If you are in the midst of a battle today – don’t give up! Encourage yourself in the Lord. Put on the Ephod and listen for instructions then do as He says, Trust God to make provision and know that He is faithful and You will recover all!
He is a faithful God! Psalm 89:3 (amplified) O Lord God of hosts, who is a mighty one like unto You, O Lord? And Your faithfulness is round about You (an essential part of You at all times).
Father, thank You that the battle I am facing today belongs to You! I will encourage myself and trust You to work all things out in my favor. Thank You for wisdom and discernment to know what to do. I do hear Your voice and I will trust You and praise You throughout this battle – I will draw my strength from You knowing that nothing will be lost but I will recover all! Thank You for Your faithfulness! Amen!
Psalm 140:6-7 (amplified) I said to the Lord, You are my God; give ear to the voice of my supplications, O Lord. O God the Lord, the Strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.
