The Winds of Change Are Blowing

This is a word that was posted today on The Elijah List which is a website that has almost daily prophetic words and prophecies…I wanted to post it because I believe this is where alot of us are at right now and it will be encouraging to know that God is speaking. It’s kind of long BUT worth the read. I pray that it speaks to your heart today!

Cindy McGill: “FACE THE WIND – IT’S A FAITH WALK”

The Winds of Change are Blowing

Does it feel like everything in our lives is being challenged? Sometimes it seems like our spiritual compass is spinning out of control and we can’t find our direction. We put one foot down and the ground moves under the other foot. There is no doubt that we have crossed over into uncertain times. The certainty in uncertain times is to keep our anchor in Jesus.
Isaiah 41:10 says, “Do not fear for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
It’s time to walk by faith and not put a lot of trust in our own understanding. The winds of change are blowing and everything in our lives is affected. These winds will show us where our house is built.
In Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus is teaching about the two houses:
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Two houses and two foundations. Often we feel that the winds are adverse times and difficult seasons of our lives, but what if the winds actually represents the Holy Spirit?
God is redefining His Church. God is directing the wind and we find ourselves faced with two choices. We can either turn our faces to the wind or turn our backs on the wind.
If we turn our backs to the wind, we lose sight of things to come and can become rigid and unmovable, possibly even fighting against God. If we face the wind, we find ourselves positioned to have old things blown off of us, capture new vision, and become strengthened for the days to come.

LET THE JUNK BLOW OFF YA!

This shift and change is from God and we must face this wind to get to our next place. He is getting old stuff out of us. Old mindsets, old methods, old comfortable paths and predictable lifestyles are being blown off of us in this wind.
We must avoid trying to reconstruct things God is dismantling. This change is essential. We cannot move forward without it.
God is challenging us to increase our faith. We must ask ourselves this question: Will we choose to be a people of faith or familiarity?
The truth is we cannot keep going like we are going to arrive at the place God wants us to be at. The path is turning. We have to follow Him to arrive at our destiny. We are faced with an opportunity of setting the stage for the greatest visitation of His presence that the world has ever seen.
Things are being removed and things are being added to our lives. The choice is ours. Do we turn our back on the preparation process or do we face the wind and let God reshape our lives, circumstances and mindsets for His purposes?
The very wind He sends, prunes, protects, directs and guides us. There is a higher plan in place. It is God sending this wind.

THERE GOES THE ROOF

These windy times are seasonal, but our faith must increase right now. God is blowing the lid off of our little world. When the roof is gone, there is no obstruction to seeing the Heavenly realm. Things are getting exposed. We are able to see things from God’s view.
When the wind dies down, we will have a clearer picture of God, of ourselves, our assignment, and a deeper dependence on God with new levels of trust and faith. Honestly, most of the stuff we thought we just had to have, we discover we just don’t need anymore and when it’s gone, we won’t miss it – stuff in the natural and in the spirit realm.

WHERE IS OUR FAITH?

God is taking over. He is directing the ship. As this storm comes up, will we remember God’s words to us or will we be like the disciples who woke Jesus up in the boat, telling Him they were going to die?
Luke 8:22-25, “Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, ‘Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.’ And they launched out. But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, ‘Master, Master, we are perishing!’
“Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them, ‘Where is your faith?’ And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, ‘Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!'”
We are going to make it to the other side. The process may take us in a way we didn’t see coming, but the end result is that we will be in a new place with new perspective and INCREASED FAITH!
Face the wind. It is a good thing and a God thing.

Obedience

Obedience…what is obedience? Obedience is the act of obeying or the trait of being willing to obey and submit to authority…

Questions to myself today…Have I given Christ all authority over my life and am I willing to submit to that authority and walk in full (not partial) obedience to Him?

Obedience is a heart issue. It is a heart attitude. Jeremiah 29:13 says that If I seek Him, inquire and require Him as a vital necessity with my whole heart…I will find Him! He wants your whole heart (not part of it) and that comes through spending time with Him to get to know Him and to develop a relationship with Him. He wants your heart to become so full of Him that everything else will be crowded out. As we come to that place of maturity we will be able to walk in that obedience because we will learn to hear His voice in every circumstance and be able to act upon it.

When we come to that place where our eyes are so totally focused upon Him and everything in our lives are dependant upon hearing His voice before making any decisions – we will walk in obedience and with that obedience will come peace – that peace which surpasses all understanding. Peace will be the sign of your trust in His guidance.

Whose voice will I listen to God’s or man’s? Will I follow that peace that comes from obedience to Him or will I follow my mind & reasoning which is so easily swayed by man? Will I allow God to have the final authority over my life?

His word says that He has plans for good and not for evil to give you hope in your final outcome. He doesn’t want you to live in confusion or doubt. He wants you to live in peace, to have the assurance that you are hearing His voice and trust Him enough to be obedient to that voice.

If you are having questions today about anything – go to Him quickly. He is concerned about everything that concerns you. Get quiet before Him and He will speak to you in that still small voice. There will be no question in your heart or mind that you are in His perfect will!

So, today Lord, I ask You to give me a heart that will seek you as a vital necessity in my life and a willing heart to obey You – help me to always trust You enough to give You that final authority over my life!

The Power of Forgiveness

I was laying in bed with my eyes closed and I was thinking about my next blog… I saw the words ” The Power of Forgiveness” like a banner before my eyes…There is power in forgiveness! If you are holding unforgiveness in your heart – you are in bondage. You have to make a choice to forgive but also through that choice – allow His power to work in and through you to accomplish that forgiveness. 2 Cor. 12: 9 says that His strength and power are made perfect in our weakness (our weakness or inability to forgive)

Power – Possession of qualities required to do something or to get something done.

We can’t do it alone but through His power we can! He gives us the power to overcome these strongholds in our lives…

I pray that this will set someone free today!!!!!!

Steps To Forgiveness from “Victory Over The Darkness” by Neil T. Anderson

1. Ask the Lord to reveal to your mind the people you need to forgive. Write them on a sheet of paper.

2. Acknowledge the hurt and the hate. State specifically for what you are forgiving them. Also state how their offenses made you feel.

3. Understand the significance of the cross. The cross of Christ makes forgiveness legally and morally right. Jesus took upon Himself all the sins of the world-including yours and the person who offended you – and He died “once for all” (Hebrews 10:10). The heart cries, “It isn’t fair! Where is the justice?” It is in the Cross.

4. Decide you will bear the burden of each person’s sin (see Galatians 6:1,2). This means you will not retaliate in the future by using the information about their sin against them.

5. Decide to forgive. Forgiveness is a crisis of the will, a conscious choice to let the other person off the hook and to free your self from the past.

6. Take your list to God and pray the following: “I forgive (name) for (list of all offenses and how they made you feel).”

7. Destroy the list.

8. Do not expect that your decision to forgive will result in major changes in the other persons. Instead, pray for them (see Matt. 5:44) so they, too, may find the freedom of forgiveness (see 2 Corinthians. 2:7).

9. Try to understand the people you have forgiven, but don’t rationalize their behavior. What they did was wrong and you shouldn’t make excuses for them.

10. Expect positive results of forgiveness in you.

11. Thank God for the lessons you have learned and the maturity you have gained as a result of the offenses and your decision to forgive the offenders (see Romans 8:28, 29).

12. Be sure to accept your part of the blame for the offenses you suffered. Confess your failure to God (see 1 John 1:9) and to others (see James 5:16) and realize that if someone has something against you, you must go and be reconciled (see Matthew 5:23-26)

Give Me Your Eyes To See

As I was washing dishes this morning I was listening to my favorite christian radio station KSBJ 89.3….yeah KSBJ!!! I heard this song by Brandon Heath called “Give Me Your Eyes”…it really made me weep as I listened and thought about all the hurting people that came across my path this past week. I know that those encounters were no accident. There are so many people not only in our churches but outside the walls that are hurting…some are eager to talk about how they feel and how they have been hurt, others smile and pretend everything is alright when they are dying on the inside and then there are those who are hiding in their houses because they are afraid of being hurt again…

Why haven’t I cared? I’ve been there a million times before with people just moving past me like I wasn’t there. I know what it is. I know how it feels.

Lord, give me Your eyes to see!

Are we not Christ’s representatives on this earth? Are we not called to reach out to the hurting, to tell them there is someone who cares…someone who loves them unconditionally, someone who will never leave them or forsake them, someone who will meet them right where they are at even in the midst of all their messes!

In the midst of all the busyness and chaos of everyday life…stop and look around you at all the people…really look at them and ask yourself…

Where are they going? What are they doing? Are they smiling on the outside and dying on the inside? Do they know Jesus as their personal savior? Do they know how much He loves and cares for them?

If you get the opportunity…take the time to reach out to them with His love to show them someone does care!

The chorus of the song is my prayer today…will you please make it yours also?

Give me Your eyes for just one second, give me Your eyes so I can see, everything that I keep missing, give me Your love for humanity. Give me Your arms for the broken hearts, wasn’t it far beyond my reach, give me Your heart for the once forgotten, give me Your eyes so I can see.

Lord, give me a heart of compassion to see what You see…help me to reach out with Your arms of love – to let the world know that there is hope in You!

Today I choose to…

I started this blog to encourage you in God’s Word…little did I know how much it would encourage me. Although, I have learned over the years that when God shows you something in the Word that you should always apply it to your life first. When I wrote these little Bible studies on Elijah – I really wasn’t looking at them to be tested in my life so quick. Now, I have a choice to make – who will I put my trust in?

So, today Lord…

I choose to believe.

I choose to have faith.

I choose to be still and know that You are Lord over every circumstance in my life!

As long as we are on this earth I believe we will have trials and temptations BUT we do have a choice in how we will deal with those situations. Alot of times like Elijah – after some of the greatest victories in our lives the enemy will come to attack, to try to make us believe they never happened, to get our eyes off of what is real – off of what really has substance in our lives and to bring great discouragement. He wants you to think that you are all alone – to make you feel as though you are the only one going through any trials – when in reality we all fight the same old battles!

When those thoughts come – what will you do? Will you give in to them OR will you choose to believe that the Lord is true to His Word even in the midst of our trying circumstances! What is happening around you may be fact BUT it is not the truth! The truth of everything always is found in the Word of God! His word is true! His Word is powerful! It always accomplishes what it was sent forth to do! His plans for you are always good!

I choose to put my trust in You & Your Word today Lord!

You are my peace…

You are my provider…

You are my joy…

I choose to believe that He has already made provision for my every need!
