New Word for 2015

The Holy Spirit quickened these words to me for 2015. (in this order) Reflect, Repent, Release, Renew, Revive, Restore, and Rejoice.

A Year of Reflection.

Reflect – to think deeply or carefully about. To reflect purposely. Revive, contemplate or meditate on.

As you think back over the past year, take inventory of the good as well as the bad. It has been a very hard year for some (including me) When you are in the midst of the battle it is hard to see the victory. We tend to see only the circumstances that surround us. But, as we look back, we will begin to see how God brought us through those difficult times. You will see that He was there all along. He is forever faithful. Faithfulness IS an essential part of Him. (Ps. 89:8.)

He can use those hard times in our lives to bring growth if we will let Him. As we look back we will see some growth but we may also see areas that still need work.

For example: Did you learn to trust Him in all situations? Did you learn to be instant in season? What about forgiveness? Maybe you are in a waiting period – can you now be content with where you are and wait for God’s timing? Do you feel spiritually stronger?

Sometimes looking back is needed in order to move forward. Facing it head on with honesty and openness. You will see growth in some areas. Take that apply it to your life and gifts. You will also see other areas that still need improvement. Ask Him to show you these things. They will be important this year in moving forward.

A Year to Repent and Release.

Don’t take any unnecessary baggage with you into this new year. No guilt, no shame, no regrets, etc. Baggage will only drag you down and keep you stuck in the same place unable to move.

Deal with it and as the new popular Disney song says, Let it Go, Let it Go, Let it Go!

Repent of any areas of disobedience or sin the Holy Spirit brings to mind that has kept you from moving forward. He says, Release it and LET IT GO!

A Year of Renewal.

Renew – Resume an activity after an interruption. To take up again. To make new again. Restore to freshness.

If you started something last year that you didn’t finish – the Lord says , try it again! Its never too late! Maybe you had an interruption, a set back or just became discouraged in whatever it was you felt led to do. He says, try it again and let ME breathe new life into it!

A Year of Revival.

Revive means to regain life. To give new strength or energy to. Ex. Revive a drooping plant by watering it often. Activate. Set in motion.

Some of you have felt like a dead, dry drooping plant. You don’t have the strength to move forward. He says, Get back in the Word and I will begin to water those dry places in your life. You will be revived and will begin to move in a new direction. As you begin to step out in obedience, you will gain the strength you need to move forward or begin again.

Isaiah 58:11 I will always guide you and give you strength in the desert. You will be like a well watered garden and a spring that never runs dry.

Just like a drooping plant – As you begin to water it, it begins to be revived and brought back to life. So, as you step out in faith and obedience, your gift will be activated and set in motion this year. Just keep moving forward!

A year of Restoration.

Restore – To reinstate. Repair. Renovate. To return to former condition, place or position. Re-establish. To restore order.

To receive back more than has been lost to the point where the final state is greater than the original condition.

Just as you thought it was over, done. Jesus says, I’m going to restore those barren, dead dry places. I will restore those things you thought were lost. I am the God of restoration! He says, what I restore will be greater than the original!

A Year to Rejoice.

To rejoice. To experience joy and gladness in a high degree.

Phil. 4:4-7) Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I say Rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. Do not fret or have anxiety about anything, BUT in every circumstance and in everything by prayer and petition (definite requests) with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. V.7) AND God’s peace SHALL BE YOURS!!

He says, rejoice in ALL things knowing that I will work ALL things together for your good and MY Glory! Eph. 1:11
