Sometimes Life is HARD

I don’t know about you but sometimes I need to be reminded of some spiritual truths because sometimes LIFE IS HARD!!!!
Today I am reminding myself where my strength comes from. Its when I try to do things in my own strength that I fail or fall apart. I have to stop and remind myself that my strength is found in HIM and Him alone. So, again my armor goes on to prepare for another day. With His armor I can stand my ground and do all the crisis demands. I realize that the battles swirling around me are spiritual battles and are not to be fought in the flesh. I will go to God’s word to see the truth about the situation and to find a solution or answer. Even though the facts may state one thing, the TRUTH of the matter is in HIS word.
I know that I must stay prepared and BE ready at all times because that enemy of mine is always on the prowl seeking whom he can devour. 1 Peter 5:7-10 AND I will not be devoured!
My faith must remain strong and secure. I know some days we feel like we have no faith but Romans 12:3 says we’ve all been given a measure of faith and in Matthew 17:20 all we need is a small amount to move a mountain.
Hebrews 11:1 – Faith is the assurance, the confirmation, the title deed of things we hope for being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality (faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses)
In other words – Faith is believing before seeing! I will believe that the battle is won even before I see any results!
I remind myself to put on the Helmet of Salvation because it covers my head in the day of battle and gives me the assurance and security I need in Christ through my salvation. Keeping my head covered will keep doubt and discouragement away that say these battles can’t be won.
I pick up my Sword which is the Word of God and realize how powerful it really is. Hebrews 4:12 – For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power, making it active, operative, energizing, and effective; it is sharper than any two edged sword.
The Word of God is ACTIVE, it’s OPERATIVE, it’s ENERGIZING and it’s EFFECTIVE!
When I send forth His Word It will not return to Him void but will accomplish that which it was sent forth to do. Isaiah 55:11
I choose today to pray at all times, staying alert to watch with strong purpose and perseverance. Perseverance – steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
Ephesians 6: 10-18, I Peter 5:7-10, Romans 12:3, Matthew 17:20,Hebrews 4:12, Isaiah 55:11
Pray this with me:
Lord, thank You for supplying my armor today! You have everything I need to fight any and all battles! Help me to stay prepared at all times to face whatever comes my way. Increase my faith to believe that all things are possible in You. Thank You for my salvation that brings security and assurance in all things that concern me.I will pray at all times and persevere in spite of any difficulties or delays. Amen!

Sometimes the Battle is Yours

Knowing what to do in the midst of the battle because sometimes the battle is yours!

Most of us have read these scriptures (Ephesians 6:10 – 18) that is talking about our spiritual armor. Read the scriptures and then take a walk with me through these points to see if you can gain any additional spiritual insight.

1.) Be strong in the Lord, empowered through your union with Him and draw your strength from Him. You must realize where your strength comes from. You draw strength from Him as you spend time with Him in prayer and the Word. You cannot rely on your own strength or strategies to fight any battles.

2.) Put on God’s (whole) armor which he supplies that you may stand against ALL the strategies and deceits of the enemy. Did you catch that? He supplies! He has everything you need to fight any battles successfully.

3.) You are not wrestling with flesh & blood but against evil powers in the unseen realm or sphere. You must realize that it is not physical opponents we are battling with even though it may seem like it at times. We must always pray and seek revelation to recognize the force behind it.

4.) Again in this scripture (v.13) reminds you to put on God’s complete armor so that you can resist and stand your ground and do ALL the crisis demands to stand firmly.

5.) Stand and hold your ground having tightened the Belt of Truth. You must stand firm on His word and not back down or let go. Believe what the Word of God says about your circumstances.

6.) Having your feet shod in preparation to face the enemy. You have to stay prepared at all times to face the enemy with firm footed stability and promptness produced by the Gospel of Peace.

7.) Lift up over all the covering Shield of Faith. Raise your Shield of Faith to stop any darts from the wicked one.

8.) Take the Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. Hebrews 4:12 says the Word of God is alive and full of power & sharper than any two edged sword. Take your gift of salvation and the Sword of the Spirit to fight your battles.

9.) Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit with all manner of prayer. Keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance.

Pray this with me:

Lord, I will be strong in Your Power and put on all the spiritual armor so I can stand against the deceptive strategies of the enemy. I realize that I am not fighting against flesh and blood but against evil forces. I will use every piece of Your armor so that when evil comes I’ll be able to resist and win the battle. With Your help, I’ll stand in battle with Your truth buckled around my waist. I’ll cover my chest with the armor of righteousness, and I’ll wear the shoes of peace that comes from the good news of the gospel. I’ll carry the shield of faith to stop all the arrows and fiery darts. I’ll wear my protective helmet of salvation and I’ll protect myself with the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. I will pray at all times, on every occasion and in every season. I will keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance. In Jesus name, Amen!

Stay tuned! I will probably be writing more on this later.

Open My Eyes

Let this be your prayer today!

Open my eyes that I may behold “wondrous” things out of Your law. Psalm 119:18

Wondrous – Causing wonder or amazement. Very beautiful or impressive. Extraordinary, that is to be marveled at.

Lord, Thank You that my eyes would be opened today! Allow me to see the beauty in Your Word as I begin to seek out the hidden treasures! Thank You for new revelations and a deeper understanding! I am overwhelmed and amazed at your power & grace!

Lord I Believe

Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her. Luke 1:45

Make these proclamations with me!

Yes, Lord, I do believe! Thank You that You will fulfill Your promises to me! I have complete confidence in You today to bring to pass things hoped for! Amen!

God of Second Chances

Are you feeling discouraged? Feel like you’ve failed or maybe feel disqualified in some way? I’m here to encourage you today! It doesnt matter what you feel like. You can’t be ruled by your emotions. He doesn’t change His mind about you! Rise up and speak what His Word says!

His Word says in Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts and plans I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

AND, the good news is He doesn’t keep score. Even though we mess up, He sees the end result. He sees what He had in mind for you from the beginning and He keeps His eyes on that goal.

Look at Peter’s life – after he denied Jesus, not once, but, 3 times, Jesus still gave him an assignment. He said, Feed My Sheep.” He looks past ALL our failures and mistakes and looks to who we are in Him! You see, He already knows everything about us. He knows our weaknesses. He knows us better than we know ourselves.

In Luke 22:31) Jesus said, Simon Peter, listen! Satan has asked that (all of) you be given to him (out of the power and keeping of God), that he might sift you like grain. V. 32) But I have prayed especially for you, Peter that your own faith may not fail; and when you yourself have turned again, strengthen and establish your brothers. v. 33) Simon Peter said to Him, Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and death. v. 34) But Jesus said to Peter you will deny Me three times. We see that happen in verses 56 -61. In verse 62, Peter went out and wept bitterly. You can read the same account in John 18:17-27.

In John chapter 21 after Jesus appeared to the disciples for the third time, He restored Peter and affirmed His calling, saying, “Feed My Lambs.” ( John 21:14-17)

His gifts and callings are irrovocable. (not able to be changed or reversed, final)

Romans 11:29 For God’s gifts and His call are irrovocable, He never withdraws them when once they are given and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.

Psalm 119:89 His Word is forever settled in heaven!

Lord, thank you for Your Word today that encourages and uplifts me when I am feeling discouraged. Thank You for the good plans you have had for me from the beginning of time. I know there is hope in You! Thank You for loving me even when I have failed You. Help me to find my strength in You. Draw me closer to You to find that strength. I will rise up and speak Your word over my life and move forward in my assignment. Thank You that Your Word is forever settled in heaven! Amen!

Stepping Out in Faith

Mark 12:41-44 Amplified Bible

41 And He sat down opposite the treasury and saw how the crowd was casting money into the treasury. Many rich [people] were throwing in large sums.

42 And a widow who was poverty-stricken came and put in two copper mites [the smallest of coins], which together make [a] half of a cent.

43 And He called His disciples [to Him] and said to them, Truly and surely I tell you, this widow, [she who is] poverty-stricken, has put in more than all those contributing to the treasury.

44 For they all threw in out of their abundance; but she, out of her deep poverty, has put in everything that she had—[even] all she had on which to live.

In verse 42- a poverty stricken widow came and put two copper coins in the treasury. She probably felt a little intimidated as she watched all the rich rulers walking around dropping huge amounts into the offering. She looked down at her two coins (mites). They were very small (the smallest) copper coins. The least valuable, about a ½ penny. Only the poorest could get away with giving a copper coin. Most were required to give silver coins.

When this little widow decided to give she was deciding to trust God no matter what. She was going to give everything that she had, even though she would have nothing left to live on. That was definitely an act of faith to give it ALL. It also required her to step out of her comfort zone and give in front of the rich rulers.

The rulers were giving but their motives were all wrong. They were giving to be seen of man. Jesus wasnt moved by their giving or the huge amounts. He looks on the heart. It was that quiet, sacrificial small gift the widow gave that impressed Jesus. The little widow gave selfishly and whole heartedly. She wasn’t seeking man’s approval or praise.

She probably did question herself as she looked down at her small coins. Wondering if she should give them or should she just forget it. She already felt like an outcast because widows were often overlooked by man. It was hard enough being a poor widow but then to think about giving her small offering in front of the ones that intimidated her. The ones that looked like they had it all together. They always seemed to say the right things and give the right offerings.

BUT, what she gave was of a greater value because she gave from her heart. She had to decide what to do and she made the right choice. I think she realized this was bigger than anything she could imagine. It was more than what she could see in the natural. She realized at that moment that she had a purpose and a part in this. She didn’t let fear or intimidation stop her from doing what she knew in her heart to do.

v. 43-44 Jesus called His disciples to Him and said to them, truly and surely I tell you, this widow, has put in more than all those contributing to the treasury. For they all threw in out of their abundance, but she, gave out of her deep poverty.

Know this: There is always a purpose and a plan for your little part – whatever that part may be! You do have something to give. Dig deep and you will find it. It doesn’t matter how small or insignificant it may seem to you. Step out in faith to bring your offering!

What is it that you have to give?

Moving into His Presence

I LOVE God’s presence! I LOVE to hear Him speak into my life! It encourages me and builds my faith.

How do you move into His presence and hear Him speak?

Psalm 100:4 – You enter His gates with thanksgiving in your heart and enter His courts with praise.

You begin to praise Him and thank Him for who He is in your life and for all He does! Praise Him in advance for the answers to your prayers! He is faithful! Faithfulness is an essential part of Him at all times! Psalm 89:8

As you worship, quiet your soul and listen for Him to speak to you because He will! He wants to speak to you! He WILL speak to You! Don’t limit Him! Don’t miss His word to you. Sometimes He speaks in a “still small voice” that you could easily miss if you are not listening.

1 Kings 19:11-12 (amplified) – The Lord was not in the wind, the earthquake or the fire BUT in the sound of a gentle stillness.

Listen closely and value every small impression or word you receive. Write it down. Journal it. Record it. This is so important. Then its up to you to receive it, believe it and apply it to your life!

Expect Him to speak to you concerning your life and call! Expectantcy is key!

Casting Your Care on Him

Make this your prayer today!

I empty myself of ALL my worries and concerns knowing that the answers are in You!

Thank You Lord that You will perfect (bring to completion) all that concerns me.

I will cast the whole of my care over on You because You care about me and for me.

I will be well balanced, sober and vigilant. Cautious at all times, recognizing the attacks of the enemy.

Jesus Christ Himself will make me what I ought to be. He will establish and ground me securely, strengthen and settle me!

Amen and so be it!

Psalm 138:8, I Peter 5:7-10

Ephesians 3:14-21

This is my prayer for you today! Scripture reference Ephesians 3:14-21

When I think of the wisdom and scope of His plan I fall down on my knees and pray to the Father of all the great family of God, that out of His glorious, unlimited resources He will give you the mighty inner strengthening of His Holy Spirit. And, I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in Him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love, and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high His love really is, to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully understand it. And so, at last you will be filled up with God Himself.

Now, glory be to God who by His mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we could ever ask or even dream of – infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts or hopes. May He be given glory forever and ever!

God’s love or His power is not limited by our own imaginations!

Therefore I Have Hope

Scripture Text: Lam. 3:21-23

This I recall and therfore have I hope and expectation.

It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving kindness that we are not consumed because His tender compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.

Even when you are emotionally discouraged you can have hope! His love never fails and GREAT is His faithfulness to you! Amen!
